The Men and Mental Health Blog has the tools you've been looking for

It’s always been our mission to provide dads with the best resources to assist them in making a positive impact on their children. In addition to all the huge steps we’ve taken in the last year to equip fathers(like our new curricula and expansion of our New Pathways program), it’s also become to clear that the men we serve—and men in general—are struggling with more than just providing for their families.

The disheartening reality is this: Men suffer from mental health issues in staggering ways. Did you know…

·        Nearly one in ten men experience some form of anxiety or depression. Less than half seek help.

·        Men are more likely to experience intense, poorly controlled anger.

·        Men age 50 and up are more likely than any other group to experience loneliness and isolation.

·        Suicide rates have risen since 2000 and are now the seventh leading cause of death among men.

If these statistics are enough to make your heart ache and your mind race, you aren’t alone. We at Good Dads are working to help men from all walks of life work find the mental health resources they need. That’s why we’re highlighting men’s mental health this year on our new Men and Mental Health Blog.

Here’s what to expect:

Each month we have a collection of essential blogposts on a different mental health topic, so there’s always something new to learn.

We know that tackling a mental health concern is a lot like hiking up a mountain. Standing at the base and craning your neck to catch a glimpse at the top might make you feel like: “There’s no way I’ll ever make it.” But the journey of a lifetime begins with just one step. The Men and Mental Health Blog is your tool for climbing your own mountain.

We will also keep providing practical, evidence-based services at Good Dads Counseling. If you or someone you know is looking for counseling, do not hesitate to reach out to us.
